As I was saying, if Win 10 is forced to be released soon, it can be another Vista and Win 8. Just my opinion.

Gotta agree with you here. More work needs to be done. Otherwise it will flop no mater the price.

    *Ditto And mine!

Although Windows 10 is shaping up nicely, there are still too many things wrong for an early release.

Yeah, it can be fun at times. But it just had to work. I'm tired of hearing the "It's a Tech Preview." excuse. If it's going to be released soon, it should be at least past that stage already. They should be tweaking it up right now and not introducing new concepts which apparently they just realized based on what I've read on the article above (original post).

Yeah, they just released Project Spartan with 10049 and Internet Explorer was nowhere to be found . . . although it finally showed its ugly head and I captured it for my Quick Launch.

And Spartan!?!? I'm sorry, but that is one huge mess . . . if they were anywhere near a working copy, we should have had it long ago; right now, it's something I cannot use. I tried, but, well . . .

As probably everyone knows by now, I'm having problems sticking to the Internet. Last night I did a clean install of Windows 10 Build 10049 and I still can't stick. I even tried the old trick of plugging in the Ethernet cable, but oh, my, my, my! Poor little Build 10049 was more confused than ever. Although I was sticking to the Internet, it took forever and three days for anything online to happen.

So, if this is what I'll have to look forward to, like a couple of others, I'll just stick with Windows 8.1. At least I'm used to it and it works just fine.

At least, we have a year to make up our minds, and Service Pack 1 should be ready well before then. That is, if they call it Service Pack still. *Smile

This is important: "What we’re hearing is that Microsoft is planning to stop developing new features for Windows 10 as soon as possible and instead start focusing on fixing bugs and issues that are found by company employees and insiders."

Adding new features (as in settings etc. in Spartan and so on) could very well take another month, and it would still be in line with above statement. We cannot jump to conclusion that what we see now is final feature set, IMO.

Please, the source of that statement is Softpedia. They are complete idiots. They don't understand that two branches of software can be in development at the same time, and assume that one must stop before another can start. That's simply not the case.

More than likely, work has already begun on Redstone, in unison with Windows 10. As Windows 10 continues to be finished, those changes get pushed into the Redstone branch.

The source is not from Softpedia. It is from Mary Foley:

Microsoft's 'Redstone': An update to Windows 10 due in 2016 | ZDNet

My own view is that MS are under pressure to get Windows 10 on the market. They might withdraw Spartan, or even Cortana, to make them more complete and sophisticated, I can visualise SP1 coming next year for Windows 10.
Interesting, though, that the Insider will continue. A good idea, imo, as it will isolate the Windows 10 feedback from all the other garbage,
