Windows 10: Windows 10 running very slow on one of my laptops

Hi,


Windows is running very slow on one of my I3 boxes which has Intel Core I3-4010U CPU @1.70 GHZ whereas other one having same I3 processor is running fine. Even the installation of updates is not completed even when i left my laptop open whole night. I am currently running windows 10 which is upgrade from windows 8.1 which came with laptop as preinstalled.

What all troubleshooting steps have you performed?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I would request you to execute the System Maintenance troubleshooter and check if there is any improvement in the speed of laptop.

To perform common maintenance tasks in Windows, such as cleaning up unused files and shortcuts, try using the System Maintenance troubleshooter to automatically find and fix problems. For example, the System Maintenance troubleshooter looks for unused files
and shortcuts that you can clean up or remove so that your computer can run faster.

Please follow the steps to run System Maintenance troubleshooter
on the computer:

• 
  Type “Control Panel” on the search box.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
  
• 
  Click on System Maintenance option.
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.
  

Please revert if you face any issues with slow speed of laptop.

I would suggest you to Run Maintenance task

The Run maintenance task checks issues that might slow down your computer's, such as how many users are currently logged on to the computer and whether multiple programs are running at the same time.

Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X on the keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click on Run maintenance task under
  System and Security.
