Windows 10 says I don't have permission to save anything.

Sorry to be a bother, but I tried doing all of this. Everything was successful until I went to save the changes... Then a pop-up window came up telling me that my access was denied and I could not change the ownership of *any* of the files or folders I select, including folders that I created myself. I am the sole user of the computer, and am listed as the only administrator. A lot of the files that are on my computer tell me that I need a "trustedInstaller" 's permission to delete it, or something along those lines. PLEASE HELP! I'm running out of ideas (and storage) on my computer. Thanks so much.

    HowTo change Administrator Permission in Windows 10 .FirstOption;

    • Right click on troublesome ‘file’
    • Left click on ‘properties’
    • Select ‘Security’
    • Click ‘Advanced’
    • Click ‘Owner’ ‘Change’
    • You will find three things -
    • A - Object type e.g. User
    • B - Location i.e. the name you (user) gave Microsoft as the name of your computer when you first got it to work e.g. ‘sillytwot3’
    • C – Enter Object Name – which is the real bitch in the machine. They need the name of the administrator you gave them originally. If you cannot remember this or come up with the right name click on ‘Change Names’ & if you cannot find it in that list just clear all from the box. Click the ‘Advanced’ area below, click the find now in common queries & keep going until you find YOUR original administrator name.
    • When you have found it enter it as the new owner location & click ‘OK’
    • Click ‘apply’ and if it does not apply it again now of the 4 options at the top select ‘SHARE’
    • In the ‘share’ area click to highlight the administrator user that you have previously organised& click ‘OK’
    • Click ‘OK’ again
    • If you have got the idea correct the file should now be yours to command. Unfortunately I find this only works on one file at a time & as such is still a pain in the arse, but at least it does work.

    SecondOption;

    • Sometimes you will get a window from properties with
    • ‘Group or user names list’
    • If your user name is not on this list
    • Click Edit & if it is still to highlight
    • Click add & enter you admin or user name
    • click to enter
    • click to allow full control
    • click your user name to highlight
    • click apply
    • click OK
    • click to highlight again
    • click OK again
    • with luck the file is yours.

Windows 10 says I don't have permission to save anything.

    Hi Guys,

I have this annoyance which I cannot solve by myself so please bear with me while sugesting some solutions
Windows 10 says I don't have permission to save anything. [IMG]

Asking this because not quite sure which is the affected folder or how it's affected as a matter of fact.

It’s about a win 10 I just installed yesterday (in dual boot with win 7 32 bit, on some other partition).

This fresh installed windows 10 (not upgraded) is not allowing me as an admin user (single user of the PC) to add new files (through copy or move, or delete) on any of the folders that win 10 has created on C drive, without a prompt for admin “you'll need to provide administrator permission to…” copy/move/delete etc, although in advance security tab I can see full rights granted for administrators.

Outside those folders on C that windows originated during installation (or on any other drives), isuue is not present.

I posted a crapy 3 min video on Youtube, as the audio serves better for explanatory of this issue.

    Thanks!
