  1. Windows 10 Says Password Is Wrong When it’s Not

Windows 10 doesn’t recognize the correct password. I have used different methods of trying to login through command prompt, changing windows password and booting in safe mode to no success.

Attempted factory reset only for it to fail at 8% multiple times and take me back to the login page.

    Help?

    Wrong Password

The "Old Password" is the password to your local account. It is about to change your local account to a Microsoft Account. If you don't mind this, then enter your local account password. If you think this is overly intrusive of Microsoft, don't do it and let Cortana die.

You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

Windows 10 Says Password Is Wrong When it’s Not

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
