Windows 10: Windows 10 Screen Display Too Large

Hello Microsoft community,

I recently had a problem with my resolution being just a bit too large for my monitor. I found the solution to my problem! However there was another thread with the same title in the questions forum but it is locked now. In fact, I have seen several threads with the same issue (tv/monitor connected with HDMI, screen to large in native resolution) and I would like to offer my solution, but cannot reply to a locked thread.


SOLUTION:

I went to the Input Select or Source Select on my monitor and found that there are two options for HDMI. PC and AV.

When I had my input selected as HDMI AV, my screen was just a bit too large, once I switched over to HDMI PC everything is back to normal.


I just wanted to share this easy fix in hopes that it helps someone having the same problem as me.

Large Screen Display

After the latest update for windows, my screen resolution This makes everything look extremely large. and is giving me headaches. I have followed the steps in the discussions, but none work. My driver says it's up to date. After reading everything there
is no place that Microsoft takes blame for messing everyone's display up, as I am not the only one per all the chat. What else can be done? or should I just go another operating system?

It is important that you have the correct screen display and resolution. We suggest that you perform the following steps to reset the monitor settings:

• Boot your computer in
  safe mode.
• Once in safe mode, right-click the desktop > Screen Resolution.
• Change the display settings back to the original configuration.
• Restart your computer.

To understand the issue better, let me know what is the make and model of the computer?

This issue could have occurred due to corrupt or outdated display driver.

I suggest you to try installing latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps. If Windows 10 display driver is not available in the manufacturer website, I suggest you to install the driver
in compatibility mode.

To install the display driver in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps.

a. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
select latest Windows version from the drop down list.

e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
