    Windows 10 Script Issue

    Hello All,

I hope I am posting in the correct forum. Forgive me if I am not. Here it goes...

We have a script which is basically a copy/paste script. There isn't anything special about it. We use it to copy folders from an admin's PC to the root of the C drive on VDIs and other PCs. All machines involved run on Windows 10 LTSB 2016 64-bit. The folders only contain word documents.

The issue is that the script errors out sporadically on different machines. One moment we can run the script and it will perform the copy/paste to a PC, the next run it will error on the exact same PC. We can't use it at all on the VDIs, because they always error out. The errors are "permission denied" and "unexpected error occurred".

The users have full rights to the script's destination folder on their PC and the script is being run as a domain admin. We have gone as far as use Powershell as an admin to run the scripts. That has shown little improvement. The scripts worked great on windows 7.

What I am looking for is advice on where to look for things possibly blocking the script from performing the tasks. I am looked through the firewall, stopped the anti-virus, looked through the services, and examined what is enabled in windows features under programs and features.

Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. Windows Script Host

    Hi Tiara,

The message "Windows Script Host access is disabled on this machine. Contact your administrator for details" is usually occurring if a program that does not require the feature of Windows Script Host is running on a Windows PC. For us to provide an accurate
solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • Does the message appear when you are launching a specific application?
    • What changes were made to the device before this issue happened?

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps provided by
    Ramesh Srinivasan
    in this thread.

We are looking forward to your response.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    Heres a couple examples:

    Here

    Here

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

    • Installation problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Microsoft Edge problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Drivers problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Experience problems with the Fall Creators Update
keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....
