Windows 10: Windows 10 search just does not work properly

Dear Microsoft,


Please please please improve search performance. I've tried changing indexing settings, changing indexing locations, resetting the search index entirely. It just does not reliably work. Sometimes even within the same folder it displays some items but not others. This worked better even in Vista.


You would significantly improve my quality of life if you could help me make this work better and more reliably.

Search option is not working properly in Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Restart the Service and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + R.
  
• 
  Type Services.msc In the search box.
  
• 
  Select Windows Search.
  
• 
  Restart the services and set the service as Automatic.
  

Step 2: Run the
Search and Indexing troubleshooter.

Follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Search and Indexing
  troubleshooter.

Windows not working properly

We suggest that you try to run Hardware and Device troubleshooter using the steps below:

• Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
• Click Run the troubleshooter.

We also suggest that you update the keyboard driver and check if it work.

Metro 2033 fails to work on windows 10!

I don't recall you mentioning any trouble shooting steps attempted though. At the very least, doing a quick search and checking threads like this very well may have solved it for you. It's listed as compatible on MS' list of games that work with W10 for a reason, because many if not most are able to get it running on W10. At least some level of workaround may be required, but some got it running without doing anything.
