Windows 10: Windows 10 Setup Corrupts HDD

Hi, I'm a windows 7x64 Ultimate user, and just now I've downloaded a fresh iso of Windows 10 using the Windows DVD tool or media then put it on a USB.


I swapped my HDD to another one, a 250gb Seagate Barracuda SATA for a test install. I wanted to make sure that all the hardware can work with 10.


However, when I did a fresh install, deleted the old partition and let windows setup did its thing.

It created several partitions, a system one, recovery, primary and another one. I chose to install on the largest partition. Then it stucks at copying files at 0%, which isn't normal.


After a hard reset, in which usually windows setup either resume its coursr or start a new, I'm presented with a blank monitor after the windows logo. Nothing else happens, the PC's fan started to blow faster but nothing else.


Next thing I know, the HDD is detected, but unreadable. When placed as secondary drive, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 won't read it. They all stuck at the Windows logo.


Now, my question is this:


How is it possible that your so called next gen product, the ultimate windows, corrupt my HDD just by setting it up?


As I recall, there are others that faces the same ordeal as I do, they all lost equipment, data and time.


Second, how are you going to compesate us, the victims of your failed product, as we spend money on this and now we lost equipment. Don't tell me to get another drive or go to repair store, your product did this, and you should step up and own your mistake.

HDD Corrupt ?

There are many possible reasons this issue is happening. We'd like to ask few questions below:

• What is the brand name of you Hard Disk Drive?
  
• How old is the HDD?
  

Since you already tried multiple troubleshooting steps, we suggest visiting the manufacturer's website. Find and download a hard drive diagnostic software to help resolve the issue.

corrupt hdd

I have an 8 year old ibm thinkpad r51 and it now has a corrupt internal hdd...... i dont no much about computers so please suggest what i should do?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
