Windows 10: Windows 10 Share on right click

I recently right clicked on a sensitive file and instead of clicking on Open with, accidentally clicked on the Share button. The following window popped up:





I immediately pressed the Esc key and the window disappeared. Does this window automatically share the file with the contacts listed in this window? Or would I have had to select a contact and go through additional steps to actually share the file? I'm worried that I've shared sensitive financial information with contacts that really shouldn't have seen them.

Right click and then 'Share With' then 'Stop Sharing' -- does nothing (windows 10)?

I simply wanted to share my pictures and documents folders to my home network. Home group is hopeless, it does nothing. I did right click on those two folders, advanced sharing, then added 'Everyone'. Now, the entire Users directory is shared on the network,
with full permissions. (Though I don't recall asking for full read-write-delete permissions, and I only asked for those folders under my username, not the entire Users folder!) I can access it from my wife's PC -- and delete files.

How can I simply share the Pictures and Documents folder with my wife's PC?? Say, read-only. Why is this so hard? Am I an idiot?

Why does 'Stop Sharing' seem to do nothing when you click it?? Shouldn't there be some notification of some kind that it's doing something?

I realize that you are facing the issue with HomeGroup in Windows 10, let me assist you.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to run the HomeGroup troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and select
  Troubleshooting.

  Click on View All, in the left view pane.
  
• 
  Find and click on HomeGroup and follow the on-screen instructions.

No worries. You would have needed to click on one of the apps that you wanted to use to share with first, and then click on another option to share the file with the app.
