Windows 10: Windows 10 shows me Control.exe error, when I want to change my language bar hotkeys.

After updated Windows to latest 2020, the keyboard hotkeys for changing languages changed and not working, even default alt+shift not working any more and thank goodness there is new feature of win+space hotkey working!


But I'd like to use alt+shift+1 and 2, so I go to Language preferences\advanced keyboard settings\Input language hotkeys, but when I press link, It shows me an error dialogue:

Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Change language bar hotkeys in windows 10

I am happy to say, that Windows10 now has the gool old

Control Panel\Clock, Language and Region\Language\Advanced settings\Change Language Bar hotkeys where you can set the hotkeys for each Keyboard Layout separately.

Unfortunately setting a hotkey for a layout, build with Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator does not work.

The hotkey have no effect - but this is an other bug

there was advanced setting in the control panel/ time and language/ region and language/ other date, time and region setting/ change language setting/ advanced setting/ change input method/ change input language hotkeys

 

The function "Change language bar hot keys " has a bug.

• Were the hotkeys settings on your Windows 10 computer ever worked before?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you reconfigure your hotkeys settings by setting your key sequence to Not Assigned. To do this refer to the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Language > Advanced Settings.
  
• Under Switching input methods, select Change language bar hot keys.
  
• Select Between input languages, and then click Change Key Sequence.
  
• Set Switch Keyboard Layout to Not Assigned.
  
• Restart your computer.

Once you're done with the process, you may then proceed to reconfigure your language bar hot keys to your desired settings. You may follow the steps above and select your preferred keyboard layout.
