    Hello all!

I am pretty sure I have tried everything to fix this problem. But before I reset my HP All in One Desktop and lose all the programs I've added over the last 2 years, I thought I'd ask y'all if there's anything I've missed.

About a week ago, two significant things happened. One, Windows installed an update before I could set a restore point. The second thing was, we had a pretty wild electrical storm which ended in a 2 hour power outage early the next morning.

That morning when I went to sign in with my pin, my computer said welcome while the dots spinned and spinned and spinned. I tried again, more spinning. My first thought was to start it in safe mode and set the computer back to its last restore point and reboot. However, it wouldn't go into safe mode any which way I tried so I went to recovery and lo and behold there was only one date, the date of the recent update! So I chose that and then rebooted. Spinning. I kept trying safe mode, press 4 nope. Press 5 nope. Nothing would get me in safe mode, it would just load the same sign in screen, put pin in, spinning. So much spinning this week, I'm getting dizzy. I've tried all the troubleshooting, repairing, the media creation tool with Windows 10 but I can't get the computer to boot from it. I've tried the recovery discs, still the computer seems stuck and not willing to budge.

I did get one error in all of it, a CMOS error but my computer is only 2 years old and it gets plenty of use to stay charged. Still I was going to try it even though the thought of taking apart the computer for one little 50 cent battery doesn't thrill me.

Does anyone one out there have a clue? Or am I destined to reset the computer back to the beginning and reinstalling the programs that I remember. I never kept anything important on there and always had my 2 externals for that stuff. There were a few misc. folders on the desktop but I've backed those up when I tried the repair and backup.

I look forward to hearing from you, I'll just keep spinning while I wait.

    Pam

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Stuck on logo screen with spinning dots

This suggestion isn't helpful at all. If I can't even get past the boot screen with spinning dots there is no way to access the recommended steps.

I have two Windows 10 computers. This afternoon I left my backup desktop at a repair shop because the screen goes black after I log in. They've seen this with quite a few Windows 10 computers. This evening my primary computer (laptop) won't get past the
    Microsoft logo screen.

Ive been using Windows computers for over 20 years and never encountered this level of difficulty until Windows 10!

After Windows 10 update, signin screen won`t accept my pssword.

Sign-in screen won`t take my password after Windows 10 update on a new HP laptop. I had setup a pin login but now asks for Microsoft password which I wrote down and have used before but will not accept now.

Black screen with Spinning dots after Windows 10 updates

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the PC’s?
    2. Are the PC’s connected to domain network?

I suggest you to refer the article Troubleshoot
black screen or blank screen errors
    , refer the section
I see a black or colored screen with spinning dots after restarting my device.

However, if the PC’s are connected to domain network, I suggest you to post your query on
    TechNet forumswhere
we have experts on domain environment.

    Hope it helps.
