Windows 10 Skype app for Insiders is getting money transfer feature

Last year, Microsoft announced that it is working on a new feature for Skype that would help users transfer money. The new feature “Money transfer” has been available for Skype users on iOS and Android for quite a while now.

The Redmond Giant today updated the Skype app for Insiders on Windows 10 with a new feature that would help them transfer money. The company is testing the latest Skype update with Insiders and it would become available for everyone in the coming weeks or months.

Microsoft has been testing this feature on iOS and Android in partnership with PayPal. Now the company is making available the same functionality to Windows 10 users with the latest Skype version 14.32.42.0.

This feature is currently available only for Skype Insiders and Microsoft should release this feature to all Skype users after successful testing. For users to be able to send money on Skype you would need to click on your profile.

Once clicked you would be prompted to select the friend along with the country. You would need to click on Request Money or Send option to complete the transaction of transferring or receiving money. Users should have an PayPal account linked to the Microsoft account for the transaction to be successful.

Users would need to be in one of the supported markets to be able to transfer or receive money as the feature is not available in all markets. It apparently doesn’t work in countries where PayPal is not available.

Microsoft has also confirmed that you will be able to send or receive money according to the currency of the market you are living or transferring the money. Microsoft says that support for additional countries will be available in the future.

The company has not provided any ETA as to when the money transfer feature would be rolled out to all Windows 10 users. It seems that it will not be too long since the feature is already under testing.

The feature is currently live for Skype Windows 10 users who have enrolled in the Insider program. Do let us know your first impressions in the comments below.

And not only that but also:

Windows 10 Anniversary Update will double the number of Start menu ads/promoted apps

Sure, all that stuff can be uninstalled but then again who needs more crapware

edit: without that W10 clean installation could've been much faster just like on ltsb version

clean out-of-box start menu on W10 ltsb
