Windows 10 Sleep Model Seemingly Uncontrollable

When my laptop is on power, I never want it to sleep. When on battery, I never want it to sleep unless I TELL it to sleep, not by closing the lid or on a timer.

I've visited Power & Sleep settings and set the options to my preference. I then proceed to Additional Power Settings and edit the selected power plan to confirm that those settings also propagate there. I even make a change, save it, then change it back to the desired setting and save again to ensure the settings "take".

My laptop still sleeps as it sees fit while on power or otherwise. This has been a long time problem which I finally got sick and tired of enough to actually make a post asking for assistance.

I'm on the latest version of Win 10 with all updates installed as of 16-Feb-21. All available updates from the laptop manufacturer are installed including BIOS.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. Floating and uncontrolable curser.

    Hi,

We'd like to know more about your concern regarding the uncontrollable cursor when playing games. Please answer the following:

    • Have you made recent changes to the settings or installed updates prior to this issue?
    • Aside from gaming, is the issue also happening when navigating to other programs?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you tried using a different mouse to check if the same issue will occur?
We look forward to your response.
