Windows 10: Windows 10 - slowdown

I bought a Dell laptop that has Windows 10 version around 1 year back. From last few months, the software has become very slow. It takes around four minutes to start. And various applications are too lazy to get started. Even if they start, they'll crash and get closed. The same problem persists with MS Word. It won't start soon. It takes anywhere between 2 to 3 minutes to open.


Kindly guide me how to increase the speed of the system, so that I can save a huge amount of time.

Windows 10 slowdown

There are some factors that may cause the computer to slowdown, corrupt Windows system files, is one of the factor that can slow down the computer and cause other problems.

To isolate the issue, we would like to ask some information:

• Did you get any error messages?
• Have you done any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
