    I could have saved you a lot of time if you had asked for a tutorial clarification.
    But that is besides the point now.

    As to sign in automatically without password or PIN, please keep this tutorial on file.
    It might come in handy next time.

    To do this, hold windows key and press R - type WINVER and press enter. Display will show you current OS and version.

    Yes David, I checked the properties of ‘My Computer’ and saw that I did indeed have 10 Pro. I had read on one of Microsoft’s sites that 7 Pro was eligible for upgrade to 10 Pro and reported one could do more with it than 10 Home. Having already used 7 Pro was the deciding factor to choose the long route to 10 Pro; also I wanted to be doubly sure the C drive was totally erased.
    Not having any formal training in computer science, I’ve depended heavily on sites for advice for XP (some years ago), 7, 10, MS Office & the old Dell Community forums when stuck.
