Windows 10: Windows 10 Start Menu Power Button Not Working

This is one of the few places where this problem is even mentioned but it was with a insider preview 14905 way back in 2016. Just about every Windows 10 install that I have has this problem. I should say just the ones that were a "free" upgrade. Fresh installs seem to be OK.

Anyway..... when you click on the power button withing the start menu it closes so fast you can't click on "Start", "Shutdown" or "Restart". In my case it was interjected in 1703 and not fixed in 1709. Has anyone recently come across this issue and/or know of a fix?

My start menu icons aren't showing up properly!

I have same problem, the start menu is not working. when you click it , nothing happened. Microsoft edge and store icon are missing on the taskbar.

 

Power icon Windows 10 not working

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few weeks ago. Everything seemed to be working fine until today when the power button stopped working. When I place the cursor on the power button in the start menu it no longer displays the options "Restart" "Shut
Down" etc. Nothing happens when the cursor is on the power button. If I right click or left click on the power button the start menu disappears displaying only the desktop and nothing else happens.

I cannot turn off the computer without holding down the power button on the tower. The computer is a Dell XPS 8500.
