Windows 10: Windows 10 Startup Lag

Hello all,

Im having a bit of an issue with Windows 10 Pro on my Dell (specs listed below in second system.) Well, I guess it isnt an issue so much as its an annoyance, and I havent found any way to fix it yet.

When I start my machine, from power on, to UEFI, to Windows start screen is fine. I have my system set up so one needs to press ctrl-alt-delete to login. After pressing this, there is a pause of say 10 seconds or so where it shows the circling loading dots, then it shows the screen with your user name and allows you to enter your password. This is the only time I have lag like this, everything else is lightning fast.

I have both drives in my Dell encrypted with bit locker. This issue started I want to say about a month after I used bitlocker to encrypt everything, so it didnt start right away. I keep my system well optimized, taking care to trim the SSD (C: drive) and defrag the Data drive (D: drive, Seagate Firecuda), clear junk files usually once a week to every other week, remove programs I dont use, so the system as far as I can tell is pretty tidy. Like I said, everywhere else, loading programs, games, browsers, malware scans, etc, its all very fast.

Any ideas of where I should look or what I could do to remove the lag when logging in?

Slow startup after upgrading to windows 10 version 1709...??

I have core i5 system with 8gb of ram.....after upgrading to windows 10 version 1709 the startup lags a lot.

Realtek HD Audio Manager process FMAPP.exe

Stopping this process in Task Manager instantly stopped the mouse lag. Disabling it from startup causes no sound issues and the mouse has not lagged through a few reboots.

 

I would use Autoruns to check / disable startup programs / services / tasks for each user. See Turn On or Off BitLocker for Fixed Data Drives in Windows 10

 

Like I said, it didn’t happen right after turning on Bitlocker. I’ve already used autoruns to turn off all I could on startup, and it didn’t seem to make a difference.

If it is caused by Bitlocker, I’ll deal with it. My laptop goes a bunch of different places with me and has work related stuff on it that I really wouldn’t want someone else to get at.

 

I have same problem, it was good before I install Office 2013 , but then now start up takes almost 1 or more minutes.
When I check , there's a service 'Office Software Protection Platform', how can I disable it ?
