Windows 10 store 1GB of download an hour. Store downloads outrageously slow

This has continued by long before corona virus, where it says around 2.5 mb/s download, and it takes about 3-4 seconds for the download to actually increase by that amount. On the xbox app, the game I'm downloading says 200 KILOBYTES a second. On Steam, I've always had 5 mb/s, and barely any change to this speed with corona virus. Microsoft, please fix your damn store servers.

Anybody know how to fix this? I've got no download limit speed, checked the trouble shooter, and a couple others I can't remember. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  2. Downloading is Slow from Store.

    Hi Mihir,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From the description, I understand that Windows store downloads slowly.

    Step 1:

I suggest you to clear Windows Store cache and check if it helps.

    Follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows logo key + R.
    • Type wsreset.exe on Run window and press enter.
    • Check if issue persists.

You may try the following steps and check:

    Step 2:

Try to run the sfc scan and check if the Windows store downloads faster:

Run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

    • Press Windows key + X, click
      Command Prompt (Admin)
      .
    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

      sfc /scannow
Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of the proposed suggestion, we’ll be glad to assist you.

Windows 10 store 1GB of download an hour. Store downloads outrageously slow

    Windows 10 store downloads slow

I've just reset my windows because my windows update database was corrupted and every possible fix online wasn't helping.

Now that I've done the painful task of rebuilding my intricate set-up, the last on my list was re-downloading my windows store apps and games, which I have a lot of. Unfortunately I'm having to wait an hour per MB which is absolutely ridiculous. I've paid
for my apps, I have a legitimate copy of Windows 10 yet nothing I do seems to fix these problems I keep getting.

Things I've tried to remedy the slow windows store downloads....

Checked, double checked and triple checked the time, date, time zones and daylight savings time.

Downloaded latest updates. (currently updated to the windows anniversary update)

Reset the windows store cache, a few times actually.

    Troubleshooting for windows store apps.

    Troubleshooting for windows updates.

Re-registering apps via cmd prompt code.

    Clean boot, everything disabled.

Rebooting after each step and trying between each step.

Doing all steps in a row before re-trying.

    Edit: Also tried....

    Troubleshooting Internet Connections

    Troubleshooting Network Adapter

    Updating Intel Wifi Card Driver

    Edit: Again....

I finally was able to update the store app. I had to leave it running while i was sleeping and it finished shortly after I woke up. It took just over 11 hours... for 15 MBs... absolute BS and by the way, it did nothing to fix this. I guess I'm going to have
to pursue refunds for the Win10 games I've bought as there's no way I'll be able to download them.

It's not my internet, Downloads on this desktop are crisp and quick. Downloads from windows store on my laptop (also version 1607) from my tablet (version 1511) and from my HTPC (version 1511) are also quick.

I think it's rather ridiculous I cant even update the store app, which should be about 15 MB, in 5 hours of trying to get it to download I just gave up. I can only Imagine trying to re-download Forza Apex, Gears of War or any other of the 20Gb + titles.

Am I missing something? Anybody got another step I should try?
