Windows 10: Windows 10 Sudden Audio Problems & Software Issues?- PLEASE HELP!

Laptop: MSI PS63 Modern


So today something weird happened.


My audio was working perfectly fine as it always has. I closed my laptop like I always would, went downstairs for some lunch and when I came back, suddenly there was no volume in my earbuds. I unplugged them, and there was no audio without them either the volume was the same as it has been before. I have 3 outputs right now, Speakers RealtekR Audio, Speakers steam streaming speakers and Speakers steam streaming microphone. None of these 3 play audio whether or not my headphones are plugged in.


I've tried updating my laptop and restarting it, nothing happened. I've checked the audio configuration, everything seems normal. Drivers are up to date though I did get a notice from Nahimic last night saying I needed to restart my laptop for some reason or another, though I quickly dismissed it because I was doing something. Another thing, when I check in the Microsoft store, it says Nahimic was modified today, which may or may not have something to do with the problem.


Another odd issue- I am suddenly unable to play MP4 files on my laptop but ONLY when the Speakers RealtekR Audio output is selected? They play albiet without audio on the other settings just fine, but on that specific output which worked just fine before gives me an error code: 0xc1010103 message when I try to play it for some reason??


I need this fixed quickly as I do lots of video editing, which requires both sound and being able to play files.

Method 1: Run Playing Audio Troubleshoot.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter.
