Windows 10: Windows 10 suddenly goes very slow

    Windows 10 suddenly goes very slow


    My Windows 10 desktop sometimes goes very slow and everything is delayed, I have to restart constantly and it's getting irritating, anybody know any possible causes or solutions?
    Specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i5 6400 2.7 Ghz
    GPU: Intel HD Graphics 530
    RAM: 8 GB
    Windows 10 64-bit

    Slow system

    I recently installed windows 10 and checked that window defender is on, however my system is very slow suddenly ,pls help?

    Windows 10 suddenly very, very slow after crashing.

    Try resetting the BIOS defaults:

    If that does not work:

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Display adapters

    Right click the current display adapter

    Click Uninstall

    Exit Device Manager

    Restart

    If you have any non-essential devices attached to your computer, disconnect all of them - keep only mouse and keyboard attached, then boot the system.

    Which version of Windows 10 is installed?

    Have you installed any new hardware or software recently?

    a. in Safe Mode
    b. after a clean boot

    (1st part)

    Please also post a screenshot of your task manager when your PC is nominally idle (click on column headings to put anything of interest at the top).

    Please download and run Crystal Diskinfo (free) and post the result shown (quick blue/orange/red) indication.

    Please do this routine scan to check your file system:
    From an admin command prompt
    [Windows key + X, click command prompt (admin)]
    chkdsk C: /F
    Your PC will need to restart.
    Make sure the result is clear or fixed- else do not proceed.
    Post back the result, which you can get after a restart as follows:

    Your PC slowing down could be anything from resource issues to hardware, malware to 3rd party programs. Many things.

    What is your exact PC model? (Please add to specs including disk drive details - see mine for example)

    Do you have Norton anti virus installed? I have found that my pc will slow down when a full scan is running.
