Windows 10: Windows 10 - system thread exception not handled

Well it all started when I got a message stating "system thread exception not handled"... there are plenty of others with the same issue and try as I might with all the claimed fixes I can't seem to resolve the constant restart and scanning. I can get into safe mode but it is almost useless as it only stays live long enough to accomplish the most basic tasks. Anything more then a few clicks and I'm back being recycled. If I try to uninstall or disable a driver no can do. I just lockup and then it goes back to whole "system thread exception not handled" reboot process. I can't use any attached media when in safe mode as the computer immediately begins the process where it will go into a reboot cycle. I can use command mode and it works just fine. I was able to use attached media and copy all that I value to thumb drives. I tried a restore and this came back as corrupted. I'm at the point now where I'm going to use the win 10 installation media and try a refresh and or a clean install. Before I begin this journey I thought I would reach out to see if anyone has any other suggestions or advice.

The System Thread Exception Not Handled error in Windows mostly occur due to incompatible or old graphics card drivers. System Thread Exception Not Handled error is often displayed along with the Blue Screen of Death

I suggest you to boot into Safe Mode environment and update your graphic drivers.

Method 1: Update drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

• Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.
• Search for Display Adapters.
• Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.

You may also download the latest graphic drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install them on your computer.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check.



Method 2:



Follow the steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode.

• Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the installer and click on "Properties".
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select previous Operating System from the drop down.
• Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

I have NCH software that I use. When I try to go back to Windows 7 using the steps described above the system thread exception not handled error kicks in before the restore starts!

p.s. I thought the windows 10 upgrade checked the PC before giving the message that windows 10 was ready to install?
