Windows 10: Windows 10 Tablet Mode - enable last active application

Hi all,


We have tablets across our business that are running Windows 10, and will be used in Tablet Mode due to a project we have up and coming. We need the devices to run in tablet mode so that the onscreen keyboard appears and the apps run in full screen.


The issue we have, and this is my reason behind posting which I am hopeful someone will have the answer to is that within D365 Retail, we have a button which triggers the web browser to open to complete some actions. When closing the web browser, as it's enabled in Tablet Mode, the device is then reopening the Start Menu full screen view, and we have to tap the app to reopen, even though it's already running in the background.


Is there a setting / function that i'm missing which can enable Windows to reopen the last active window / app, rather than defaulting back to the Start Menu?

Tablet mode not working since Windows 10 update

Before we proceed,I would like you to answer the following questions:

• Could you please tell me if tablet mode is enabled?
• Could you please explain when you say "NOT A SINGLE ONE of my apps are to be found anywhere"?

I suggest you to follow the methods below:

Method 1

If tablet mode is not enabled,I suggest you to enable it by performing the following steps:

• Click or tap the Start button
• Open the Settings application
• Click or tap on "System"
• In the pane on the left of the screen scroll all the way to the bottom until you see "Tablet Mode"
  
• Ensure the toggle is set to either on or off to your preference.

Method 2

I suggest you to Follow the below steps to Run the System maintenance Troubleshooter:

Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on System maintenance .
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Method 3

The glitch issue might occur due to some corruption in the display drivers.So,I recommend you to update the display adapter and check.

Tablet Mode in Windows 10

Tablet mode is a new feature that should automatically activate when you detach a tablet from its base or dock. Also, in tablet mode, the Desktop is unavailable.

To disable the Tablet mode in Windows 10, you may follow the steps below:

• Click the Start button.
• Launch the Settings app.
• Tap on System in the left pane of the screen; then, scroll down to the bottom until you see
  Tablet Mode.
• Verify if the toggle is set to either on or off based on your preference.

The concern you have encountered may be due to a corrupted file or a misconfigured setting. Windows 10's Tablet Mode provides a more touch-friendly experience by making all applications run at full screen and giving you a Start screen instead of a Start Menu.
If you have a 2-in-1 device, Windows 10 asks you if you want to enter tablet mode every time you convert your notebook into a slate. Kindly follow the steps below to sort out the concern:

• Click Settings from the Start menu
  
• Click System, then select Tablet Mode in the left panel. A tablet mode submenu appear
  
• Toggle "Make Windows more touch-friendly . . ." to on to enable Tablet mode. Or off to go to desktop mode
  
• Configure the "When this device automatically switches" menu to let Windows 10 to switch modes on your 2-in-1 prompt or not prompt you.
