    Windows 10 takes a long time to boot


    It's my first time asking a question here . Hope i get some answers.


    I upgraded to windows 10 home from windows 8.1. My Windows 10 takes about 8 minutes too boot up


    My Notebook specifications are as follows. It is a HP Pavilion TS 15 Notebook


    CPU: Intel Core i3 4005U , RAM: 4GB , GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400 , HDD: 700 GB


    Now the I would think it to be a hardware bottleneck. But my friend has a laptop with lower specifications

    It is as follows.

    CPU: AMD E1-2500 APU , RAM: 4GB , HDD: 128 GB

    And yet it boots Windows 10 in less than a minute. It doesn't have an SSD


    Before you answer my question i have already performed the following fixes

    1. Turn On/Off fast startup

    2. Disabling services and startup items

    3. Page file changing. Set to 4096mb-8192mb

    4. Defragmented the Hard drive.

    5. Ran sfc / scannow

    6. Ran a full system scan. No malware

    7. Set boot configuration such that HDD is the priority

    8.Disabled unnecessary device drivers. Card reader and touch screen for me.

    9. I have about 300 GB free space. So i ran disk cleanup, cleared temp files, deleted bloatware and unnecessary programs

    10. Set cpu cores to 4 in msconfig

    11. Ran in safe mode.

    In safe mode windows boots up in about in a minute


    Still my boot time is between 7 and 8 minutes


    Please Help me solve this. Although I am sure that my best bet is to buy more RAM and get an SSD but i am open to any other suggestions

    Very long boot-times with DVD-drive?

    Hi guys,

    got a lil problem here. My machine takes very long to boot. It sits @ that windows-knight-rider screen and the blue line is crossing about 10-12 times before anything happens. Yesterday i had to disconnect my DVD to connect my reserve hdd and see... it boots after
    3 or 4 times of that line passing. Is that coz i got a bad driver or bad firmware there....Don´t know if driver makes difference coz i think windows got 1 generic and it don´t affect my secondary DVD drive... any suggestions?

    Windows 10 USB boot

    Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

    System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

    Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

    So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
    If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

    Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

    Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
    That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks
