Windows 10: Windows 10 - Task scheduled to Create Restore Point on startup does not work when I power up

I am running Windows 10 Pro (recently updated from Windows 7 Pro). I created a Task in Task Scheduler to Create a Restore Point on Startup. It works when I execute a Restart, but it does not Create a Restore Point when I Power Up the computer (system off before starting computer).


How do I get the Scheduled Task to Create the Restore Point when I Power On?

Just to verify, did you check to make sure that step 1 is still set properly?

It's not uncommon for some settings to be reset to default after a new build or update.

If it is, then test using the command in step 8 below for your current scheduled task instead to see how it may work.

Task Scheduler does not create Restore Points

Task Scheduler does not create Restore Points. I can create them manually but not with Task Scheduler. When the time comes for Task Scheduler to work, nothing happens. There are no error messages. No history entries are relevant. I have Windows 10
Pro, Version 1607, Build 14393.1066.

 

Scheduling System Restore Point Creation


I have tried to precisely follow the instructions set out in System Restore Point : Create at System Startup - Windows 7 Help Forums, but the Task Scheduler / script is failing to create a restore point:

• Running the script manually creates a Restore Point.
• Task Scheduler appears to run the script, but no Restore Point results.

(The Last Run Result code 0x41301 indicates "The task is already running".)

I would be grateful for any suggestions as to why the restore points are not being created.
