Windows 10: WINDOWS 10 Task Scheduler Issue

Hi all,


I am having difficulty understanding why a task I've setup shows it has run and completed, but when I look in the event viewer logs this is not the case.


The task I have configured runs when an event ID flags up within the event viewer. This works fine, except for one event ID error code. 829


This is a situation whereby a user randomly gets disconnected from a VPN connection. Error code 829 is part of the event ID 20226 RasClient, however there are also a number of other error codes associated with this event ID, but when those error codes occur the task runs fine, except for this one in particular!


Can anyone please help me to understand why this is the case and how I can resolve the issue?

• Have you tried recreating the task? If so, are you getting the same issue?
• Have you tried creating a new task?

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
• Type services.msc and hit Enter.
• Under Services (Local), make sure that the Task Scheduler service's status is
  Started or Enabled.

Task Scheduler with error message The selected task »CreateChoiceProcessTask« no longer exists

I suggest you to clear the task from Task Scheduler using the below steps and check if the issue still persists.

Steps:-

• Type Task Scheduler on Search bar.
• Click on Task Scheduler Library.
• Select the particular task and right click on it.
• Select End.

Unable to run Task Scheduler

• Can you also please confirm the current build of your Windows 10?

Meanwhile, I suggest that you try starting the Task Scheduler through command line. To do so, please follow these steps:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type this net start task scheduler and hit Enter.
