Windows 10: Windows 10 Task Scheduler stopped running after installing KB4497934

My Windows 10 Task Scheduler service stopped running after installing KB4497934, which is 17763.529 version.


1. Task Scheduler service was running well on previous version of 1809. Just after installing KB4497934, it can't be luanched any more.

2. In services.msc, Task Scheduler service is setting to Auto.

3. Using SFC and DISM to check/repaire the system, no help.

4. I also seached and tried many other method posted here and other places to solve the problem, none helped.


PS: This was ever happened on my Win10 on earlier 1809 version 503. Since the problem could not be solved, I had to reverse the sytem to 1803, then Task Scheduler service works again. And then I upgrade to 1089 475, Task Scheduler service was still working. Today I upgrade to 529, Task Scheduler service doesn't work any more.

I can't afford to reinstall my PC or reset to clean boot again and again, so please DON'T give that advise. And also DON'T post advises such as using SFC or DISM, that's really meaningless to this problem.


I just want a REAL solution. Thx!

• Type this net start task scheduler and hit Enter.

Cannot schedule a task with Task Scheduler - error 2147942403

Hi,

I suggest you to check the below settings and check fi it helps.

• In task scheduler, click on the scheduled job properties > then settings.
• In the last listed option: "If the task is already running, the following rule applies:"
• Select "Stop the existing instance" from the drop down list.
• Save and Exit. Then check whether the task is running or not.
