Windows 10 Taskbar at the top behaves as if it was on the bottom on startup

This started earlier this week. When I start my computer, any window I open and maximize will have a gap at the bottom as if there was a taskbar there, and the top of it will be behind the taskbar because my taskbar is at the top. It will correct itself if I move the taskbar to the side or bottom, then back to the top. I use Rainmeter and this seems to have started when I accidentally loaded a skin that adds a "taskbar" to the side of the monitor to prevent maximized windows from covering certain other skins the skin pack is Modern Gadgets. I have never used that taskbar skin before and

  3. Windows 10 Taskbar sometimes on top of full-screen applications

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to change the Screen Resolution and check if this helps. Follow the steps below to do the same:

    • Press ‘Windows ’ key on the keyboard.
    • In the search box, type Settings
    • SelectSystem > Display > Advanced display settings.
    • Under Resolution, select a new value. We suggest you stick with the resolution marked
      "(Recommended)”.
Also try locking and then unlocking the Taskbar and check if this helps. Follow the steps below:

    • Right-click an empty space on the taskbar.
    • If Lock the Taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked.
    • If it does not have a check mark, click Lock the Taskbar.
Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

Windows 10 Taskbar icons missing/ not responding!

    Hello Pasindu,

Windows 10 may have encountered a system file corruption that caused this taskbar issue. For us to assist you with this, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10? To check, type in
winver on the search bar and press Enter.

Meanwhile, we suggest that restart the Windows Explorer.exe to refresh your taskbar functionality by following the steps below:

    • Open Task Manager
      by right clicking the taskbar.
    • Click More details at the bottom to expand the Task Manager window.
    • Under the Processes tab, look for Windows Explorer.
    • After selecting the Windows Explorer, click the Restart
      button at the bottom.
    • It may take a few seconds and things like your taskbar and Start menu may disappear momentarily, but when it restarts, things should behave better and you can exit Task Manager.

We'll be waiting for your reply.
