    Windows 10 TaskBar Autohides after Windows Updates


    This issue happen for both laptops and desktops Windows 10 1607 and 1709 (we have a mix) and just recently started happening after Windows updates in June 2018. Ever since June 2018 updates we have noticed that a very large amount of users (450 users in our firm) log into there machines and the task bar is set to autohide. If I have the user disable auto-hide, the next time they reboot it then auto-hides once again.


    The only way I can resolve the issue for users is to go into the taskbar settings and turn both desktop AND tablet mode ON and then turn both options off, reboot, and the problem is fixed until the next time we apply patches. The issue is not consistent meaning it doesn't always repeat it self to the same users every time we apply patches. Very bizarre and very annoying.


    Also to note.... If I have a user experiencing the issue, I can log into a different machine with that affected users credentials and the problem does not affect them on that PC so it appears to be something local on the machine that they are using.


    I have searched but it doesn't appear anyone else is having the same issue.

    chrome + taskbar autohide problem

    So i set my taskbar autohide. whenever chrome is in fullscreen, when i hover around the corner, the taskbar wont appear. It works with other browsers....

    Autohide Taskbar in Desktop Mode

    Hi Niel,

    In rare cases, you may be having an issue with Autohide Taskbar in desktop mode when you when you just recently did an upgrade on your PC. Autohide Taskbar Option might have got unchecked during the process. We would suggest you try the following steps to enable
    Autohide taskbar and check if it makes any difference.

    a. Right-click on the Taskbar.

    b. Click on Properties.

    c. Put a check mark next to ‘Auto-hide’ the taskbar.

    d. Click on Apply and OK.

    Update us with the result.

    Windows 10 TaskBar Autohides after Windows Updates

    Windows 10 Taskbar Autohide fails

    The taskbar in Windows 10 is set to autohide and is positioned at top of screen.

    After a reboot it works fine, After sometime, which seems to be random, it stops auto hiding. It still knows it should because the taskbar is slightly transparent and shows the desktop icons underneath.

    No apparent trigger as yet.

    Windows is up to date.

    Any suggestions or is this a teething trouble bug?
