Windows 10: Windows 10 Taskbar icons disappearing at random

After revealing the task bar from auto-hide, most of the task bar will be blank save for a line and the start button. None of the icons including open applications or status icons appear. They usually reappear after re-positioning the task bar or typing in start's search. Sometimes the problem comes up as a graphical glitch where the icons are off center and smaller but still clickable, and the same process as above usually resets it back to normal. Is there any way to resolve this issue permanently?

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

I think you just skipped a step - not right clicking on the program name to get to the properties option

 

User assigned icons disappear from Taskbar in Windows 10

With the main account of my system (which is me), all of a sudden icons that I've put on the taskbar has disappeared. Now I can get them back by dragging and icon to the taskbar and they all reappear, but I really don't want to do that every time. I have
created a second account, logged into it and loaded up the taskbar with icons. Rebooted my system and logged in with the new account and everything works fine.

Their is another post asking this same question. I've followed every step that a gentleman has suggested and nothing works. Has anyone figured this out yet?
