Windows 10: Windows 10 time keeps changing

Do you know how to access your modems settings page, usually done from entering an IP Address in your browser, see if it shows correct time there.

 

I have had this problem since purchase of a new laptop pre installed with Windows 10. Within 2 days the date had changed to 14 days in advance. Since then, every few days it changes different amounts, from 1 day to 5 days.

When I click 'Set time automatically' in Settings, Time and Language, it instantly corrects itself. This option is on prior to clicking and remains so afterwards.

The problem stills occurs after this action.

 

Maybe dual boot issue between the OS's. Are registry hacks may help, not familiar with. Also seeing now Malware can be a cause, suggest full system scan in Windows.

 

I do not have dual boot. Only Win 10.

 

Mine goes back one hour with "Set time automatically" and "Set time zone automatically" set (this second is in preview builds only).

I turned them off and synced with internet time through the old control panel. Has been fine since.

If I turn them back on then after some time (perhaps half an hour I'm not sure exactly) the clock jumps back exactly one hour again and I need to disable and reset the time again.

 

You can still use Control Panel to set the time. That may work for you than Settings.

Open control panel
Search for Time
Click on Change Time Zone and a dialog box should appear.
