    Windows 10 time keeps changing

Full system scanned, still no joy. But I found some other things: Dual boot issue between the OS's. The time changes only after and every time when I reboot from the Ubuntu OS to Windows OS. I reinstalled Ubuntu 15.10 creating root, swap , and home partitions. The problem remains. I am dual booting using two hard drives. Any ideas on this?

Not familiar with dual booting and Ubuntu OS, this was my only other thought since i found out you had Dual Boot. So one OS on one drive and the other on the other drive, not separate partitions on one drive ? Tried about everything in Windows between Date and Time Settings. Make sure have received all windows updates and updated all other system drivers.
Windows 10 an upgrade over older OS, did you ever think of trying a clean install or have you of 10 ?

I have disabled auto update in Settings.

I have then checked synch in Control Panel.

Around 36 hours later, the time changed forward by one day.

Looking at Settings, auto was again turned on.

Any further suggestions on how I stop this problem please?

Forget windows time and use Net Time Synchronization Tool at www. timesynctool.com Set windows time in Services to manual and turn off windows "Set Time Automatically", use the program on the above website, works as a service and works with win 10 32 or 64bit. I've been using it since win 7 and now 10.

    Try it it's free.

I made an account just to chime in and provide additional info. I'm having the same issue here, and now believe it's the Ubuntu/Windows dual boot setting that I have which is causing this.

    Some things to note:

    • Windows is normally properly synced with the time.windows.com server, but every once in a while will be reset to UTC (in my case, 8-9 hours ahead?)
    • My Win 10 installation is clean and complete. I installed it with the "Media Creation tool" only a couple of weeks ago (in fact, I did about 4 installs in a row while trying to make this computer triple-boot: PC/Linux/Mac).
    • Windows and Linux are ON THE SAME HARDDRIVE (different partitions)

So, yeah, mystery solved for me, I guess. Now I just need to remember to check the computer clock whenever I boot back into Windows. *Tongue

A CMOS battery is inexpensive and when replaced you get to reset the bios.

An excellent method to compare the computer time to the real time is to use the website:

Sometimes there are registry problems that are not fixed by sfc /scannow or restorehealth.
Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    sfc /scannow
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If this is suspected then perform an in place upgrade repair to see if this will fix the time problems.

On one of my notebook computers was not able to keep time so a clean install was performed to get the accurate time.
This was after testing the time using a bootable Ubuntu drive.
