  1. Windows 10 to Windows 10 sharing

I seem to have seen so many possible solutions but some quite old but I can't find how to enable 2 Windows 10 PC's to communicate in both directions .

My primary desktop can see the 'share' on the secondary PC with no problem. No login or password required - i.e. just see the Network ICON followed by PC name then share etc. All appears fine and as I would expect.

If I try the other way round then I see the Network, I see the Icon / Name of my Primary PC but when I click on the PC name I am asked for "Windows Security .... Enter Network Credentials".

I believe I have done this correctly using as prompted my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account and password. I have changed the password for the Outlook account just to make sure it is correct and up to date. but...... I just get an error message - in RED - "The user name or password is incorrect"

I see an option to "Use a different Account" and have now added google account and ..... It appears to work fine but still doesn't solve the outlook.com issue

The message seems straight forward but I just can't find a combination that works.

I can ping each PC from the other satisfactorily

Could / should I try something from the COMMAND Prompt to help identify the problem?

Stating the obvious but Network Discovery is ON and File & Printer Sharing is on. I disconnected some VPN software

    Any help appreciated

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
