Windows 10: Windows 10 TV Resolution resetting

On a windows 10 PC, I have two displays hooked up. An LG TV with a resolution of 1920x1080, connected via hdmi and a monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050, connected via vga. I don't use duplicate or extended screens, it's either the one or the other. The problem is, when I switch from my TV to my monitor and then back, the TV resolution switches to 1360x768 (which for some reason is flagged as "recommended"). It only happens when I switch monitors, rebooting, re-logging in etc. doesn't seem to cause the problems. Both displays on AMD graphics card, latest drivers from AMD installed.

TV resolution problem

1920x1080 is the standard resolution for TV's in full HD.

• Have you tried changing the resolution of the monitor through Intel HD Graphics Control Panel?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, go to Intel HD Graphics Control Panel and try changing the resolution to get the best picture and size of the video displayed on your monitor.

Increasing mirrored screen resolution

To further assist you, we would like to know what is the make and model of your HD TV? We also suggest that you check if there's an option to change the resolution through your TV.

You can also follow these steps on how to adjust screen resolution through Control Panel:

• Open Control Panel, under Appearance and Personalization, click
  Adjust screen resolution.
• Click the name of your HD TV, then click the drop down for Resolution.

I suggest you to adjust the screen resolution before you connect to your TV and check if ti helps.

Also check if the resolution on your computer is set according to the recommendation.



To set resolution follow the below steps:

• Open Start, select Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings.
• Under Resolution, select a new value. We suggest you stick with the resolution marked
  “(Recommended)”.
