Windows 10: Windows 10 update 1903, wake up issues

Since Windows 10 update from Version 1803 to 1903, waking up my HP pavillion DV7 laptop computer (CORE i7, 8 GB RAM, SSD drive) from sleep, which used to take a few seconds, now takes 1 to 3 minutes. Sometimes it just gets stuck on a black screen a few seconds after the wake up and then stays black forever. Disabling the AMD graphics seems to fix the problem but gives me the Intel graphics low resolution. I finally rolled back to the previous version and the problem is gone. What a relief. Thank you roll back function!

When will this problem be fixed so I can try version 1903 again?

As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
