  1. windows 10 update -- an utter catastrophe!!!

Until a few days ago I had a well-functioning computer, using windows 10, but the latest automatic update of the program has turned my computer in a disfunctional shambles. I have wasted hours and days trying to find and reorganize files and search online for solutions to problems, generally without getting any useful assistance, and I am very, very angry. I pay good money regularly for windows, which I regard as a useful tool, not something on which to waste my time trying to repair.

After the upgrade, most of the tiles on my desk-top do not respond. They have died. I had adapted to using Windows Mail because it was a good system, but now I cannot open it.

The upgrade displaced all my files, and although I have located most of them, I have not been able to restore the easily accessible system as it was.

I have found that some files, for example the history file in C:\Users .... is unresponsive, and cannot be opened, and have just discovered the although the control panel can be opened, in closes again before any action can be taken.

Another thing; the upgrade introduced a number of trivial game programs which return every time I uninstal them.

I want a straightforward solution to these problems now, and I don't think that is too much to ask considering the payments I have been making for Word over the years.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
