    Windows 10 Update and BSOD

I have an HP computer and every time there was a major update I would get a BSOD and would spent a good deal of time trying to recover the system. The last time I posted was in the post below and never did get the issue resolved in spite of reading numerous threads and following the instruction of numerous posts in the thread here

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/bsod-and-windows-update/254e52dc-9e8a-4d36-bbc5-69954de1c6ba

Now I had a friend who was having issues with their updates freezing and never completing so they also posted here and one of the replies mentioned removing the wi-fi card so tried it and it solved the problem. I then tried the same thing on my computer and it booted with no problem.

My computer has sat idle for a year as I simply did not have time to continue to try to troubleshoot the problems. I find it unbelievable that after spending many weeks and countless hours to resolve the problem it was something so simple but find it even more unbelievable that Microsoft has known about the issue and did nothing about it. I found a post going back to May 2017, which is almost 2 years ago, and yet nothing was done. A person would think that Microsoft would simply update their code to make it compatible with the wi-fi cards that are affected. My computer is an HP and the other posts that I read were also brand name computers and not some cheap no name or refurb computers so again why Microsoft would not have corrected this issue long ago is hard to understand. Be nice to know how many hundreds of hours have been wasted by people trying to resolve this issue or how much money was spent at computer repair facilities when people had to take their computers in for troubleshooting and repair.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
