Windows 10: Windows 10 update: build 1809 to 1903 - new user created

I updated to 1803 last year. In the process my user profile was changed from "myname" to "myname.000"

All documents and folders had been moved to the new user in the process of the update. I spent some time updating permissions in Dropbox account, my Network storage and others things to reenable synchronisation for the newly created user.

Last night I updated Windows 10 to build 1903, and lo and behold, all my documents are now located in a newly created user "myname.000.000"

I have rolled back to 1809, and documents have been restored to user "myname.000" and Dropbox and Network drives are synching again.

How can I prevent Windows 10 updates from creating a new user profile or name at each (major) update?

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

Windows 1809 or 1903 build on newly recivied USB from Msoft USA

Good Morning,

I have just received only yesterday 30 May 2019 from Microsoft USA my new version of Windows 10 Pro for new PC build.

I am preparing for install and noted that there is a new build version of Windows 10 i.e. 1903 available.

Will my newly received USB version of windows 10 Pro be 1809 or 1903 build version of Windows 10 Pro?

Update Windows 10 - From 1809 to 1903

If we suppose we have windows 10 1903 in DVD or USB.

Can we update windows 10 1809 to 1903 with 1903's DVD? (offline update)
