Windows 10: Windows 10 update difficulties

I did a windows 10 update. Now I can't open Devise Manager. I get "This app has been blocked for your protection"

File Origin: Hard Drive on this computer.

Program location: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc



I also get a protection window when opening windows feature on or off, but on that window I can click yes and open it. Never had to before.


Also after the update the computer wouldn't take my PIN to login. Had to use alternative Microsoft password. Using Microsoft password didn't work until I reset the password. Then the Desktop open to what looked like a new user all my folder on desktop missing. I then rebooted and computer came up asking for the PIN as in the pass times. I input my old pin and the desktop came up with all my folders. But when I tried opening Devise Manager I get the protection window and can't open.


Just to say I checked Accounts and it says I'm Administrator.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
