Windows 10: Windows 10 update error 21H1 0x80080005

Today I noticed that I was unable to access my Windows 21H1 update history after installing two Windows updates last night. Also, now I can't check for new updates without the above error. I tried sfc / scannow which said it couldn't fix some errors. Then I tried the DISM tool and still have the same problem. How can i fix this? Many thanks.

Sorry? Have you got the correct Tweaking .com's repair tool? Or followed the steps to the end where you actually do the numbered repairs?

It guides you through stages of preparation, then you perform the repairs in Safe Mode.

Of course, you can just go to Safe Mode, launch the program, and directly run the repairs, missing the preparation... not the best of ideas. It's designed to give you ways of going back if something goes wrong by creating a restore point, registry backup... then doing the repairs.

suggests the error number may occur where one of the OTHER drives has a problem.

Your specs don't say whether you have other drives installed.

Anyway, worth using Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - the best text summary of such programs I've seen- to check your disks. Failing that check SMART params and do a surface scan with something else.
