Windows 10: Windows 10 update error

So I recently installed Windows 10 onto my PC using a 1709 build image file I had and I can't get it to update for anything. I've been receiving the error code 0x80080005 and I've scoured the internet looking for clues and tips on how to fix it. My wuauserv update service is stuck on starting, and I've tried stopping it in command prompt as well as disabling it in services and starting it manually after a reboot to no avail. I've used Windows Update Troubleshooter, I've downloaded the service pack from Microsoft catalog, I've edited the registry, I've even reinstalled Windows a second time attempting to fix this. Can someone please give me some idea of what I'm doing wrong?
