Windows 10: Windows 10 update failed. Error: 0x80072ee7

The thing is, my laptop got a Trojan:Win32/Fuery.B!cl 2-3 weeks before when I tried to download a game. So i decided to factory reset my laptop. But then I noticed that the Windows defender is not working (it says that; an error has occurred in the program during initializaton. if this problem continues, please contact your system administrator error code: 0x800b100) so I downloaded AVG antivirus as my main anti virus app. After a day or two I downloaded the Photoshop cc 2018 of Adobe and it won't open up because my windows 10 is not up to date, so I decided to update it, but the update keeps failing ( error code: 0x80072ee7).I have already tried to solve the update problem by running a SFC san and a DISM scan and the update is still failing. I really have no idea what is wrong with my laptop, Is it because of the factory reset?tor is it because of the antivirus? or maybe the trojan is is still in my laptop? For anyone who has an expertise about this, please help me.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
