    Windows 10 Update Fails with error: 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

I've been having this issue for a few months now, but I'm finally determined to fix it. The thing is I'm stuck at windows 10 version 10240, and everytime I try to update windows, it will restart and get to about 70ish percent when an error occurs and it undoes all changes made to my PC. I've tried multiple suggestions I've seen online such as turning off any anti-virus/malware, unplugging all external devices other than mouse + keyboard, and clearing enough space on my main SSD. All resulted the same way.

I've also tried using the windows update assistant, found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10. And this did not work either. I then tried using the media creation tool found in the same link, and that didn't work either but at least it provided me with the following error message: "0x800707E7 - 0x3000D The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation".

I looked this up and I found that it may have something to do with corrupted windows profiles and I found advice suggesting to delete any unused profiles through regedit. I did find data for one profile that I had deleted a while back but I guess it still had data in ProfileList, so I deleted that too hoping it would help, but I'm still getting the same problem when I try to update. Let me know if more info is needed.

Also I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but sometime last year my main SSD got corrupted and I had to format it and reinstall windows. It has worked fine since then other than this issue.

    :)

Win 10 upgrade error: User profile suffix mismatch, 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

I have been trying to upgrade my Win 7 Ultimate (SP1) to Windows 10 for the past two weeks, and keep having the same problem.

When the upgrade gets to 56%, the system reboots again, Restores to Windows 7 and shows the following error:

    0x800707E7 - 0X3000D

The installation failed in the First Boot phase with an error during Migrate Data operation.

I have tried dozens of way to fix this, disabling and removing devices, disconnect the LAN cable so it wont download updates, going into MSCONFIG and Disable the Services and Startup items, going into Regedit and removing the OLE.

I am doing up upgrade with a boot DVD from the ISO file, but also tried directly from the HDD.

People have said to look in the Panther dir and look for errors in the setuperr.log file. This is what is at the very end:

  3. Windows 10 Update Fails with error 0x8007001F - 0x3000D

I am trying to update my PC from Windows 10 Pro version 1703 (build 15063.1387) to the latest (1909) and it repeatedly fails with the error “0x8007001F - 0x3000D The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation”.
I have already researched this problem on the web and tried pretty much every troubleshooting step I could find, but without success. Here is my setup:

    • Dell Inspiron 3668 tower
    • 1.8 TB hard drive portioned into:
    • C: 200 GB, 65 GB free
    • D: 160 GB, 578 GB free
    • I have one user account located on C and another located on D
    • Updating from USB drive created with Media Creation Tool
    • Choosing the option to keep apps and settings
Here are some of the many troubleshooting steps I have tried already:

    • Running the update from the account located on C, which has admin privileges.
    • Perform a Clean Boot in Windows
    • Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
    • Disconnect non-essential devices attached to your computer
    • Run the Windows System File Checker
    Please help. Thanks.
