Windows 10: Windows 10 update fails with error: 0x800707E7

From past couple of months, windows is trying to install an update called Windows 10, version 20H2 and it keeps on failing with error code 0x800707e7.I have tried windows troubleshooter. Clearing disk space. Ran sfc /scannow. When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Issue with Windows 10 update - 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

Good evening,

Recently I have tried to update my laptop to the latest version of Windows.

I followed the update instructions through the 'MediaCreationTool20H2' app, as per suggested by Microsoft member, but I keep receiving the same error (I have now tried 2/3 times).

Error Code: 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

"The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation"

System Model: HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx

Microsoft Windows Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.1345)

Could please someone help me solve this issue?
