Windows 10: Windows 10 Update freezes at 48%

Hello all:I have been dealing with this for months and trying to follow various forums on this issue, but none of it actually works. So I thought i should start with a fresh post in which i can provide information about my specific system to folks. For months my computer would say that it needed an update and when I would restart and update, or shut down and update, it would run and then freeze at 48%. Then I would have to do a hard restart and the laptop would undo the changes only to prompt me again to update, with the same series of results. My laptop is a Dell e6440 Latitude. I am not sure

I am having problem with Windows 10 1909 Upgrade Freezes at 48%. Tried installation twice and failed. Any suggestion on how to complete the upgrade ? Please advise.

 

Windows 10 update freezes at 48%

A popup says that support for the currently installed version of Windows 10 on my laptop will loose support in November and that I need to reboot my machine to upgrade to a new version. I have tried to do this several times and each time it freezes at 48%.
I am finding that I am not even close to the only one having this issue.

I am computer literate and could do what ever suggestions are out there, but this is not my problem, this is Microsoft's. They need to make sure their software works before they thrust it on the general public. This is totally unacceptable.

How do I stop this popup from coming up until Microsoft actually makes their software work?

 

Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.
