Windows 10: Windows 10 Update from 1803 to 1909 fails with 0xc19001e1

Hi,


for quite some time my laptop cannot update from 1803 to 1909. It always ends with error code 0xc19001e1. I have tried various online fixes, but none helped.


Any idea what could the cause or where to look for the cause. Thanks in advance!


FYI, I have tried updating by removing all attached USBs and disabling all irrelevant service. Unfortunately, that also did not help.

Windows 10 1903 failed to install 0xc19001e1

This is for a church pc not my own!
PC specs;
Operating System; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 1803
CPU; Intel Pentium G3258 @ 3.20GHz Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM; 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 698MHz (10-10-10-30)
Motherboard; Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. H97-HD3 (SOCKET 0)
Storage;
223GB SanDisk SDSSDA240G (SATA (SSD)) (C OS, AV (AVG), Office 2013 & SongPro 5, Church Service application.
1863GB Seagate ST2000DM008-2FR102 (SATA (SSD)) (E DATA, Macrium Reflect Free &
other applications.

This not being my pc and not wanting to delete anything I am not familiar with, I am reluctant to do an in-place upgrade or clean install that will delete the applications installed!
The problem I have come across is that I checked for Windows updates and had several for Office 2013 and the usual for Windows Defender Definition Updates and malicious software tool which all downloaded and installed without issues.
The Cumulative Update for windows 1903 also downloaded but failed to install after a couple of hours with error code 0xc19001e1.
Does this mean that this pc is not compatible for this update definition?
Or is there another reason for the update to fail?
Suggestions will be most appreciated.

Windows 10 update fails with the error

Hello Everyone,

After going thru all suggestions - Windows update is still failing.

I am updating from 1803 to November 19 update 1909.

Third party Antivirus is removed.

Executed Widnows update diag program wu10.diagcab

Using Windows standalone updater: Windows10Upgrade9252.exe

Executed the steps suggested by Jeffrey.

Error is not yet resolved.
