Windows 10: Windows 10 update KB4565351 fails with error 0x800706be

I got a problem with a Lenovo Thinkpad x201.

Update KB4565351 fails repeatedly with error code 0x800706be.

The machine is running Windows 10 version 1909.


Windows Update troubleshooter doesn't find any problems.


I tried downloading the update from Microsoft Update Catalog and installing it but the installation got stuck.


I've also tried emptying the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistrtibution folder, as was suggested in some solutions I found, but that did not help either.


How to make the updates work again?

kb4565351 failed install error 0x8024000b in update history..

I try update with windows update,, kb4565351 stack in downloading 100%,,

I wait one hour but no response, i turn off wifi will be pending download,,

I Try update manual, download in Microsoft catalog,,

I run error 0x8007000d data invalid..

Windows 10 pro version 1909 x86..

I use eset antivirus

Windows Update issues on KB4565351

I am unable to do windows update for KB4565351. After multiple trials also I am getting same error

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later.

2020-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4565351) - Error 0x80070002

Could you please suggest how to fix it?

 

Windows 10 Update Failing

I'm starting to go slightly crazy having now spent about 5 hours with Microsoft support on chat - maybe someone here can suggest something new:

- I'm running build 10240 of Windows 10

- The following updates will not install (I get a message on startup just saying failed to install updates:

• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) - Error 0x800706be
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3135782) - Error 0x800706be
• Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3125217) - Error 0x800706be
• Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3141032) - Error 0x800706be

I have tried the following:

• the online automated update fix tool - does not work
• Various combinations of clearing the downloaded updates and retrying (guided by the helpdesk)
• Manually installing the latest version of windows 10 - gives a runtime error at 41% EVERYTIME (see screenshot below)

So the general cycle of support seems to be 1. try to fix updates, 2. try and update windows version manually, 3. fail and decide that the reason it doesn't work is because you need to install the updates first... see the cyclical nature of the problem..

Any thoughts?
