    Darn. In Japan 1:19AM (GMT + 9hrs and daylight saving). Still the same. We should get it first as we are in the future, comparetivley, in a sense!
    Anyone from NZ or Aus?

    Germany here, thank god I am not the only one with this problem. Cannot update with Windows Update or in Windows Defender. Was about to do a clean install, gonna wait now.

    You're right. Thought it was fixed...but no. Still won't update Defender from Windows Update.

    Update Defender from the program itself, then try Windows Update. You should get an UP TO DATE message then.

    I think Windows Update would install updates for Windows (if there were any), but not for Defender at the moment.

    Hope MS finds the fix...

    If try to update in Windows Defender I get the same error now. It worked earlier.

    Windows 10 Update March 31 2017

    Greece, 23:00 local time, the problem still exists. Started yesterday.
    Although Defender can be successfully updated though its GUI, Windows Update fails with the Error 0x80070643.
    sfc /scannow found no errors, whereas Windows Update Troubleshooter did find and fixed some errors, without resolving this issue.
    I guess we wait.....

    Just FYI, and I know you're gonna love to hear this, the GUI....the nice one with the green border??.....is going away in Creators Update. At least it has in the latest and greatest Insider build 15063.11. Actually went away a few builds back. Sometimes it can be coaxed back, but don't expect it for much longer.

    Just found a new update and it failed too. So apparently MS is still pumping out the updates that refuse to install with WU. Very smart... NOT.

    @f14tomcat, Thanx for the info....although I would like to know, once the "nice one with green border" goes away how we will do the little things, like scan on demand, exclude/include folders/files etc.
