    After running windows update I receive these error codes 0x80070057 0x800f0831 following attempts to run update "2020-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems KB4556799".

    I have tried all of the automated help suggestions ie: Admin command prompt scans "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and "sfc /scannow".

    Both report no problems. I have also run the "Windows Update Reset Tool" without errors indicated and without solving the update issue.


    Thanks again for help solving this issue.

    Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

    Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

    V 10.0 build 10240

    Maybe try with the Windows update mini-tool, found here http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...dows-10-automatic-updates-and-spyware.218745/ , thanks to Mussels. it installed perfectly for me last night.
