  1. Windows 10 Update reverted hard drive to old image

My computer randomly restarted while operating to install an update It shows as "Security Update for Windows KB4534293". Upon getting back to the windows log-in screen I was only able to sign into an old microsoft account that I had since stopped using. After logging in I saw that it looked exactly like my computer did about a year ago with all recent files gone. After looking around in folders C:/Users/MYNAME, etc the most recent files I could find were from 2019. The desktop backgroud is also the same as it was in 2019. My usual windows profile is completely gone from the machine and adding it back just logs into a new windows desktop. The update history of the machine shows that the most recent update is from yesterday but next one is from 2019, despite me having updated many times since then. There does not seem to be a "Windows.old" file in my C drive but its possible its hidden and I cant see it.

Is there a fix for this? I have restarted upwards of 10 times because I saw online sometimes that fixed windows update issues.

    Thanks

    -Kiran

Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

    Hey Guys,
What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.

Any suggestions? *Smile Windows 10 Update reverted hard drive to old image :)
