Windows 10: windows 10 update

Ihave an Acer Aspire 5633WLMi running an Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5500 that was upgraded to to WIN 10 from Win 7 a few years ago.


It hadn't been used since 2018 but I decided to bring it up-to-date for my grandson to use.


I noted that RAM installed was 4GB 3gb Usable and that settings also showed 32 bit operating system with 64bit based processor.

This puzzled me and investigating further that this was probably due to the limitations of the processor.


I then embarked on running Windows Update numerous times to bring Win10 right up to date.


On a couple of occasions during updates the system ran into a Memory Management stop code issue.

Each time I powered the machine down and then up again and problem went away.and all seems ok when running normal programs.


The Win 10 system is now at Ver 20H2 but I now note that the setting show 4GB RAM 3GB useable but now with' 64Bit Operating

System'and 64Bit Based Processor .


Can you please explain this OS change and whether I am likely to run to any issues as a result of this.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
